Activating creativity.
I didn't realize how much creativity would be a part of my day-to-day job before I started my career. From presenting data, making presentations, and other forms of communicating, getting creative is a huge part of my work life.
What if your creativity has left the building and you can't find it? What do you do?! How can you activate your creativity?
2 things that REALLY help me get into the creativity mindset:
Edward Tufte. I was very fortunate to attend an Edward Tufte event in 2008. I learned from a true expert on how to present data. If you are stuck with presenting information in a concise and impactful way, google Edward Tufte and look into his work!
Walking. Any time I need some inspiration, I walk. And my current favorite co-worker usually comes with! It's truly amazing how many of my mental blocks disappear when I am walking. My previous company had walking treadmills - when I had to create a presentation I would jump on and get to work. Even walking at 2.0 mph was enough to get my creative juices flowing.
