Motivation.

When I writing this blog, it’s Monday … a day when I always need a little extra motivation!

And lately, I've needed A LOT of motivation. Is it summer? Is it languishing? Probably a little of both.

Here are 4 things that have helped me when I can't find my motivation anywhere:

  1. Take a break. Especially a walk to increase energy. Whatever it is, do the thing you want to do for 15 minutes, and then get back to what is needed.

  2. List tasks from easiest to hardest. Start with the easiest thing. It feels so good to cross things off your list that you will want to keep going.

  3. Schedule a mentor meeting. Connecting with someone who is your cheerleader is energizing. Or reach out to me, I will be your immediate best friend at work :)

  4. Sometimes you won't find the motivation. You won't want to do the thing. That's when the discipline muscle will need to kick in. And do Mel Robbins' 5 Second Rule (see last Tuesday's tip for more on this!).

Anyone else having trouble finding motivation lately?
